It all began....
Once upon a time in March 2024, an American named Jeffrey decided to download a dating app called Hinge. There he fell upon the profile of a beautiful Canadian named Mikaela. Instantly very interested, he quickly messaged her. Although her responses were slow, she reluctantly decided to give this American a try at a date.
They met together in Fort Langley, BC, and walked together for a bit...until it started to rain. Somehow, Mikaela said yes to a second and third date. On the morning after the third date, Mikaela was sitting, eating leftover sticky toffee pudding that Jeffrey had made her and looking at the lovely flowers he brought, and thought, hmm...maybe this guy isn't so bad. A few dates became many, and in mid-June, the two decided to become a thing.
Their relationship progressed, and in late November, Jeffrey ordered a ring.
It was supposed to come before Christmas...but that didn't exactly work out, so it was time for plan B. On December 23, 2024, Jeffrey took his wonderful girlfriend out to Pitt Lake. There he popped the question, and the two then drove to Mikaela's family and announced themselves as engaged!
After a trip to Peru, a few calls, and a couple stops at the DHL shipping facilities in Seattle, Mikaela finally got her ring. The ring pays tribute to her great-great grandmother's antique ring from Scotland with a similar handmade design.
Mikaela and Jeffrey continue to traverse the border to see one another every week, and look forward to our future together in BC, Canada. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of our journey so far!
